Frequently asked questions
How do I add my own sources?
Settings → Sources → “Add Source”. Enter a website or the feed address itself. Auslese finds the feed on its own, even for YouTube channels, Mastodon and Bluesky profiles or subreddits.
How do I move my subscriptions from another RSS reader?
Export an OPML file there and import it under Settings → Sources → “Transfer Subscriptions”. You can also export your own subscriptions as OPML there.
Why don’t I see summaries (“In Short”)?
Summaries are created with Apple Intelligence right on your device. This requires a supported iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. Very short articles and paywalled articles without full text aren’t summarized.
How do I get my sources onto a new device?
Turn on “Back Up to iCloud” under Settings → iCloud. On the new device, Auslese offers to restore the backup the first time you open it.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. Auslese has no server and no account. More in the privacy policy.
